Day 6.
This morning we woke up at 4 am to take a taxi to the airport so we can be on our flight to Barcelona at 7am. We only came back to the flat last night after the Dark Rome tour and got into bed at about 12pm. It's been a long day. I didn't sleep last night so this morning on the plane I was sort of in a coma till the air pressure in my ears woke me to let me know we are decending.
Barcelona.
When we landed I almost felt awake after not really remembering the morning, and we went for breakfast. What a surprise. Prices at the airport is cheaper than the cheapest places in Italy. We had a good normal size cup of actually good coffee and a nice turkey and bree sandwich. So good.
We took a taxi to the hotel. Fabulous hotel. English speaking people. What a relief. We checked in really early and the receptionist was really nice, friendly and helpful, we got to check in at just after 11am. Got to take a bath and then passed out again. It was a good coma hour.
After we woke up we went to the front desk to ask for directions to the subway which was easy to reach. While walking there we saw beautiful wide streets with trees. Cars that stop for pedestrians. No scooters trying to drive over you. Wow. I was not expecting a whole lot from this city but what we found was so much more. Every person I came into contact with was so nice, smiled and tries to help you.
We went to play the room escape game, which was so super cool. We could not finish it in the hour we had, because we missed some clues, but it's an experienced we want to have again . Challenges the mind and is just a lot of fun really.
Anyway after that we headed back and found this weird shwarma joint that made the best home made wrap from scratch in front of you, with this nice fresh ingredients and it just tasted yum.
