Day 12 - Paris 20 May 2015

Today we had a whole bunch of things we wanted to tick off our to-do-list. It's going to be our last whole day in Paris and still so much to see.
We started by going souvenir shopping and we found the Moulin Rouge, it was totally underwhelming from the outside, maybe it's better inside and I heard the shows are spectacular but for me it was a bit run down and just small I guess. It seems to be in a sort of red light district with some Sex shops and live entertainment close by.
I should mention that my hubby was kind enough to bless me with a bus tour of Paris. It was about an hour long. Hehe we went in the wrong direction and took the bus to the end of the stop and all the way back. It was an experience though and you just have to go with these things.
After that we went to see the Louvre. It was located through this really amazing square no one ever seems to say anything about, but it's so packed with tourists it's hard to get a nice photo but a bit further away we managed some cool ones. We didn't go into the museum, we both felt a bit over the whole thing at the time.
Then we went to tick off the Notre Dame. The gargoyles everyone goes to see are at the very top of the cathedral and not really visible from outside. There are ones you can see but the are a bit broken. There is something very eerie about this church, even when the bel rung it felt weird. I don't know, maybe it's me, but the place was kinda freaky for a church.
Near the Notre Dame is the love lock bridge where I had a plate made to lock our love to the bridge. I also did some for my colleagues. It was really amazing to see al the locks on the bridge, and take foto's there. Really glad I got to do that. And now it's forever since the key is at the bottom of the river. <3
Next up we did the Effil Tower. We headed there late. I wanted to see the tower in the day and at night when it twinkels. It was spectacular. Absolutely amazing. I got to see the tower I have always wanted to see. We took some nice selfies. There was hardly any queue and we decided to go up the tower to the very top. The views were spectacular, even though it's the coldest I have ever been in my life. That wind was blowing from the north pole, I'm sure. I'm so glad my hubby spoiled us to going up, I didn't plan on it but I am so glad we did. Absolutely exceeded my expectations and left me in awe when I got to see it twinkel.
We got into bed late and I slept like I was in a coma.
So the internet connection sucks here, I'm sure it's all the grade 5 kids sucking up all the internet, but I will post photos when the internet is better.
