Day 3 in Rome. Sistine chapel. We walked to St Peter's square where we thought our entrance to our booked excursion would we, waited in line and went through security just to find out we were a kilometre off course. We had to walk around to the entrance of the chapel. Then we saw the waiting line that went about a block long. Luckily we had skip the line tickets which was a blessing because we literary skipped the massive line and went in. But wait, once inside you queue again. Okay so we are in. Massively beautiful paintings, tapestries, carvings, statues. So amazing. Then you keep walking and seeing much of the same. Would say it was a 3km total walk, with no benches, seeing more painting, more tapestries, more statues. You cannot head for the exit without completing the tour. The grand finale is the sixteen chaple which Michael Angelo painted, and it's amazing to see. Although, in my opinion, the famous finger touching painting is not the most beautiful on the sealing, but it's pretty cool to have seen. I wouldn't put it on my bucket list or even want to return, but it's something I'm glad I have done, and I'm also glad it's over. The Pope stuff just isn't for me.
We also went to the Leonardo da Vinci museum which was a very short tour for the 10 € spent, but very informative and fun to have seen all his cool creations which we still use to this day.
Also in the Piazza del Popolo square, where the Leonardo da Vinci museum is found, is 2 amazing fountains that I haven't seen on the internet. We took some nice pictures of that.
For dinner we couldn't settle on a restaurant, because of the prices in the major tourist areas are so much more expensive, so we decided to head back to the apartment and eat something near by. Our internet failed us so we just decided to go back to our cute pizza place, and once again had amazing pizza, and a beer.
Today I walked 13 km.
Hope you enjoy our pics.
