Day 14 - Paris 22 May 2014

This morning we got up to go to DISNEY LAND!!!

We wanted to get a early head start, so we started to queue at the entrance at about 09h00 but the park only opened at 09h30.  We were first in the queue.  The Disney hotel guests get early passes to the park and rides, which seems a bit unfair, but I guess that's what you pay for.  When we eventually got in, we got access to the park, but not to the rides yet, it only opened at 10h.

The park itself is so beautiful, with these gardens of statues of some of the characters like the  Aristocats, Bambie and some cool hippo with a pink skirt.  We had some time to take nice photos of that and just enjoy the park.

When the rides opened we went on the Buzz Lightyear ride, which was really nice, and unexpected.  You get a lazer gun and then you get these targets to shoot inside the really cool rides' decorations.  I really sucked at shooting the target, mainly because I could not see my lazer light, but it was really fun.

We queued for a picture with the Chip Monks.  Got a nice picture with them and they are so cute.

We then went on the starwars ride, its like a 3D type of ride where you are in a "space ship" and then the seats moves as you travel the galaxy with a small robot, who speaks french and I don't understand.  It was really cool, and a very nice experience.  Thought I might fall off my seat at one point.  Feels really real!

Then we witnessed the spring parade, with all the characters like Donald and Daisy Duck, Mini and Mickey Mouse and Goofy.  It just felt so magical to see the all of your childhood characters right before you.  There was a lot of singing and dancing, lots of colorful outfits and silly cars.

After that we went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  Its not such a fun ride as it is magical.  The decor in the background was amazing, and very detailed.  It was a lot of fun to go on. Would recommend this ride even just for the scenery.

We also went on some smaller rides like the Pinocchio ride. Its not much of a fun ride, as it tells a story when you go inside the room.  Its very cute.

Waited in line, our longest line at Disney Land, for the Peter Pan ride, and we waited about 20 min at this ride.  It was actually quite disappointing for the time spent in the queue.  It started out really cool, and then ended.  Very short.  BUT the parts it had was cool.

Also went on the "Its a Small World" ride, which is definitely for the younger kids, but it was colorful and the boat ride was relaxing, and the queue super short. It gets that song stuck in your head, and I feel sorry for the personnel working there having to hear it all the time.

Riaan also went up the Indiana Jones ride, which was a Thrill ride with a roller coaster.  I don't like roller coasters so I gave it a skip.  But he enjoyed it and took a video of it.

I saw Baloo from Jungle book, and we got to take a picture of him, unfortunately only form the back.

Then we started to do some shopping, there is a section in the castle that is shops and we saw the all the Disney merchant to your hearts content.

I bought some gifts for everyone, but whatever we didn't get today, we will do the next.

There is apparently a laser show after dark, which is at about 21h00, but we missed it, mainly because I didn't know about it, and well, my feet were finished.

Enjoy the pics
